Islamabad, Pakistan (AHN) - Four missiles launched by two unmanned aircraft struck three houses in Pakistan's tribal area on Wednesday killing seven people and wounding three others.
The air strikes in Baghar Cheena in South Waziristan happened just hours after top U.S. military commander Adm. Michael Mullen met with Pakistani leaders and military officials in Islamabad and assured them that Washington will respect the country's sovereignty. He made the assurance to General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani after Pakistan protested raids of militant camps inside Pakistan by U.S. troops in Afghanistan
Arabs and Uzbeks are renting the houses hit by the missiles, eyewitness Mohammed Gulab Mahsud told CNN.Officials in Pentagon said they informed Pakistani officials that drones were deployed by the U.S.-led coalition forces in Afghanistan to destroy an ammunition storage facility of Taliban and the attack killed one al-Qaeda member and three Taliban militants.
