Last week, aspiring performer Leslie Carter passed away suddenly at her father's home in upstate New York. Her famous brothers Nick and Aaron Carter released separate statements soon afterwards, with Nick pledging to continue his solo tour in her memory and Aaron taking a leave of absence from his role on the off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks. But there was also something curious about Aaron's tweets in the wake of his sister's death:

Note the use of quotation marks around "family," and the exclusion of his older brother's name. Now it's clear that there's major family drama brewing, as Nick was reportedly excluded from the funeral the family held for Leslie in upstate New York on Sunday. The eldest Carter sibling told TMZ, "I wanted to be at my sister's funeral, but my family has always had a complicated dynamic." Instead of attending the family gathering, he honored a scheduled appearance at the iHeart Performance Studio in Pennsylvania.
Carter's younger sister, Ginger, denied Nick's story, and on Sunday, Aaron tweeted, "The truth will reveal itself. I Love you Leslie soo very very very very very much!! virtually no words. You will always be my best friend."
